Beautiful as always. When I’m most excited about smithing, I always feel pangs of sadness because I know the feeling is just but a moment. Great reminder to be present. After reading this it also reminds me there is so much value in the ending because it means it’s time to reflect.

Dear Ms Marcie Alvis Walker, happy new year, Merry belated x-mas, and shout out to the blessings you have scattered far and wide with words from your hand, head, eyes, and heart. For your book and blogs and patreon and substack and instagram accounts and history lessons, steady seeing during historically momentious twenty-twenty, words of hope, weeks of hope, a thousand and one essays on hope from every angle never imagined, book reviews, book lists, movie lists, and I remember last years description of a sumptuous and scented christmas banquet. There have been some pretty hard times and low moments these past four years and I have found great reason to hope in the words of comfort you have provided in speaking about what is. True seeing and saying is grounding, it steadies boats in heaving waters, it orients in the fog, it settles fears and it is a spiritual battle fought and won in the chambers of ones soul. May God bless you this year with the kindness and extravangance you have showered on strangers in making a home in your words big enough to fit many. It will do my heart good to see God shower you with kindness, uplift, and open doors to good places. I for one have been incredibly strengthened in your ministry of words, and turned to them for sanity when well meaning friends were pushing along bad christian coaching and hoping it would turn into a blessing, pressed, shaken and running over. May you be sheltered from the heavyhanded well wishes of the well meaning and may you be uplifted with God lifting up and delivering the oppressed, may your eyes see it and rejoice, may you see God shower blessings on those who have suffered, may you see it and rejoice.
