I am on a senior beach trip with my seminary friends. I could be the mother of 6 out of 8 of them. I absolutely love having young friends. They teach me so much and make me laugh!! Your post really resonated with me this morning. Thank you. The poem feels like a benediction to a seminary journey. Wow.
I love making friends across generations! Becoming friends with folks who are ahead of me or behind me has expanded my worldview and helped me understand people better. (Moving frequently also helps with this.) I can see patterns in what people value and why. It's a blessing, for sure.
I am also a fan of John Green. I'm a couple years younger than his younger brother, Hank, and I like to think that we would all be friends. (I've been watching vlogbrothers on YouTube since 2012.)
