oooooooooooo I am so with you on the Thanksgiving meal - my favorite all year. In fact, Thanksgiving Day may be my favorite DAY all year. It's just the mister, and the grown son, and me and food, food glorious food. Very quiet day - I love it. The chaotic extended family is always on Saturday, and we will mostly arrive with our contributions (always traditional mashed sweet potatoes with broiled marshmallows on top because that's what our son likes plus one other dish - this year it's apple salad with dried cranberries. Very delicious.) then eat and leave after a short recovery period. Because, while I love my siblings and their families, I have big feelings about their worldviews. My parents ... well, no one has the time for that story.

Cannot WAIT to dive into your playlists! The only thing not on them that is a Thanksgiving tradition in our house is Alice's Restaurant. Yep, we listen to that whole thing every. single. year.

And any playlist with Sweet Thing on it is a keeper. Wishing you a happy and peaceful Thanksgiving, Marcie ❤

Super simple - I make 3x for the chaotic extended family of 18 - lots of big eaters.

Apple Salad

Serves 8 – 1/2 cup per serving

2 cups apple (diced) (I use honeycrisp)

1 cup celery (diced)

1/2 cup dried cranberries

1/2 cup nuts

2 tablespoons lite Hellman’s

1 tablespoon orange juice

1. Mix orange juice with salad dressing or mayonnaise.

2. Toss apples, celery, cranberries, and nuts with the dressing mixture.

Enjoy!

Thanksgiving is my favorite meal too! Me and my family love it so much that we make it again at Christmas! The smell of the cornbread baking, the smell of the turkey, the pies, it just brings me so much joy! Thank you for the reminder that no matter how crappy so many of us feel right now, we need to stop and remind ourselves what we are thankful for, who we are thankful for. We need to remember all the good we have in our lives and that all of that is worth fighting for. We need to remember the people who we love and care about who will need us to fight for them. We need to remind ourselves of all of that this week and going forward, to have strength for the coming days. Marcie, I wish you a very wonderful Thanksgiving! ❤️
