We took a great big breath of fresh air, filling our despair with hope.

SATURDAY
We took a review of our week by examining our encounters with the God of Hope.
PRAXIS
Turn an ordinary task into a ritual of hope. For example, every time you turn on a faucet to do dishes or wash your hands, what if you prayed for the conservation of our water systems? To mark the initiation of this new ritual, if you’re able, you could donate to an indigenous community that’s committed to protecting our water.
Or, it could be as simple as taking a meditative and hopeful pause in your day, like I do for tea.
Or, for every five new books you buy you could commit to donating a children’s book to a library to help build up the hope of the next generation.
THE LORD’S PRAYER
From Peace Prayers, “All in One” by Parker J. Palmer
Heavenly Father, heavenly Mother,
Holy and blessed is your true name.
We pray for your reign of peace to come,
We pray that your good will be done,
Let heaven and earth become one.
Give us this day the bread we need,
Give it to those who have none.
Let forgiveness flow like a river between us,
From each one to each one.
Lead us to holy innocence
Beyond the evil of our days —
Come swiftly Mother, Father, come.
For yours is the power and the glory and the mercy:
Forever your name is All in One.
Amen
