Hello, Friend!
It’s Monday, so… inspired by on one of my favorite bits of the Bible, let’s start every week off with a little bit of whatever’s good and noble in the world. Here are a few excellent and noteworthy things I’m seeing in the world right now. Some are beautiful, promising, and reassuring. Some are poignant, thought-provoking, and necessary. All of them add to a greater knowing of God’s presence in this world, within our humanity, and out in the great beyond. And, they all prove there’s an abundance of spectacular, breathtaking tangible and intangible cosmic matter between us.
Please feel free to share in the comments whatever is good that you’re seeing in the world as well.
Blessings,
Marcie
This week, I’d like to share some of my favorite quotes and verses. Sometimes, I get low and I need a river of light to remind me of the Light and that it is good.
WHATEVER IS TRUE…
Jesus was a member of a minority group in the midst of a larger dominant and controlling group.
Howard Thurman
WHATEVER IS HONEST…
I never asked Tolstoy to write for me, a little colored girl in Lorain, Ohio. I never asked Joyce not to mention Catholicism or the world of Dublin. Never. And I don’t know why I should be asked to explain your life to you.
Toni Morrison
WHATEVER IS JUST…
Willow trees are kind, Dear God. They will not bear a body on their limbs.
Alice Dunbar-Nelson
WHATEVER IS PURE…
Every one of us is written in the heart of God from all eternity, born into the stars, born, you might say, into the galaxies, born on this earth in small forms, developing and coming to explicit form in our lives, given a name. It’s a fantastic mystery of love.
Franciscan Sister Ilia Delio
WHATEVER IS LOVELY…
Coming into your quiet place of being, bring yourself fully into the presence of the Beloved, not expecting anything, only coming to give—of yourself and your time. Give freely, and allow yourself to simply be with the One who loves you. Let your spirit roam where it needs to—let your courage emerge to help you. Bless your life for all that it is.
Megan Don
WHATEVER IS GRACIOUS…
Hospice teaches that there are five essential conversations: “Please forgive me. I forgive you. I love you. Thank you. Goodbye.”
Mary Pipher
WHATEVER IS EXCELLENT…
Shine like stars across the land.
The Voice – Philippians 2:15
WHATEVER IS WORTHY OF APPLAUSE…
But all night Aslan and the moon gazed upon each other with joyful and unblinking eyes.
C.S. Lewis
May your week be filled with whatever is true, honest, just, pure, lovely, gracious, excellent, and worthy of praise.
Much Peace,
Marcie, BCWWF
The beautiful thoughts and words on stars reminded me of these: "Men and women who have lived wisely and well will shine brilliantly, like the cloudless, star strewn night skies. And those who put others on the right path to life will glow like stars forever." Daniel 12:3, The Message. Thank you for all the light you shine on our paths. Have a great week!
Breathtaking selections of passionate advocacy and literary harmony restores capacity for hope and wonder and seem compassionately out of place for life hitting hard on Mondays where we brace ourselves for numbness. To feel indignation, comfort, lifespan reverence, and hear selections from greats on Monday morning seems graciously calculated out of step hospitality gift; connectedness and letter writing that delivers strengthening, humanizing, and other powerful antioxodants!
