Jacob Lawrence, The Library (1960)
God is everywhere and in everything; or, to be more precise, everything is in God. So we don’t need to ask God to draw near, or to be present in our lives. God is already there! We don’t need to look for God in some special place: a church, a mosque or a synagogue. God is radically present with us, closer even than our breath. Indeed, the word ‘spirit’ actually means ‘breath’. God’s Spirit is the breath of creation, the breath in our lungs, the Spirit of the cosmos, the life force within every human being and every creature on earth. The book of Job, for example, says that if God ‘decided to hold his breath, every man, woman, and child would die for lack of air.
Dave Tomlinson, How to Be a “bad" Christian… And a Better Human Being
Hello Dear Friends,
This is just a heads up that I’m taking the long weekend off to work on my final final (final!) edits for my book. I just can’t WAIT to share the end result with all of you!!!! So, I’m going to get cracking to meet my editor’s deadline so that I can finally bring this book to life.
Look for the next Hope Challenge to return to your inbox on Thursday, June 16th. If you decide to catchup on ones that you miss or go back and revisit ones in the archive, don’t hesitate to comment. I would still love to hear from you. You’ll be keeping me company while I edit 👩🏾💻😄
So until 6/16, be well!
Peace & Blessings,
Marcie
PS… isn’t Dave Tomlinson’s writing just lovely and filled with life? Check him out on YouTube as well.
