PRAXIS
I love when a TV series reminds me that there is still hope to be found. Sometimes visiting another world, another reality, another story is just the ticket to rekindle our hope in the world and in our very real stories. And while there are lots (and lots) of shows that give me great joy – these are the ones that give me hope in humanity:
Anne with an E
Love on the Spectrum
Call the Midwife
Pose
Dating Around
Home
Zoe’s Extraordinary Playlist
Gilmore Girls
Trying
Modern Love
Queer Eye

THE LORD’S PRAYER
From Theatre in Your Life by Robert Barton and Annie McGregor
O cosmic Birther of all radiance and vibration. Soften the ground of our being and carve out a space within us where your Presence can abide.
Fill us with your creativity so that we may be empowered to bear the fruit of your mission.
Let each of our actions bear fruit in accordance with our desire.
Endow us with the wisdom to produce and share what each being needs to grow and flourish.
Untie the tangled threads of destiny that bind us, as we release others from the entanglement of past mistakes.
Do not let us be seduced by that which would divert us from our true purpose, but illuminate the opportunities of the present moment.
For you are the ground and the fruitful vision, the birth, power and fulfillment, as all is gathered and made whole once again.
Amen.
I keep meaning to tell you how lovely the artwork is in your essays.
The Detectorists is one of my favorites— hope in quirky friendship, simple joys, and that there’s still meaning to be found in the mundane, slow life, disappointments… Lately, All Creatures Great and Small has been such a delightful and cozy one to curl up to— hope in our kindness, love, humor.
